At Lydbury North, our pupils develop a love of learning. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum, which is creative, inspiring and fun. Alongside developing the skills and knowledge required within the national curriculum subjects, we feel it is important for our pupils to develop skills which will support them throughout their life. 

Our approach to curriculum design recognises the benefits of a focus on subject specific content coupled with a flexible thematic approach that enables us to make links across the curriculum, where appropriate. These themes may last for half a term or a whole term depending on the level of content.

We recognise the acquisition of knowledge and skills within subjects are equally important. When designing our curriculum, we have identified the prime knowledge we would like children to learn alongside the skills they will be developing and progressing for that subject area.
